The Heavy Metal Summer Experience (HMSE) at CEI is a high‑energy, one‑week immersion into the world of electrical construction — designed to be as fun as it is educational. Over five days, 8 hours per day, high school students dive into a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment where they learn real electrical skills, try out tools, build confidence, and get a behind‑the‑scenes look at life at CEI. This isn’t a lecture-based program — it’s a “learn by doing” experience where students jump right in, work with their hands, collaborate as a team, and build something they can be proud of.

Throughout the week, students will work on a guided electrical build they get to take home at the end of the program.

What Students Will Learn:

1. Electrician Skills — With Tools in Hand

  • Real-world electrical safety
  • Tool handling and demonstrations
  • Wiring activities, conduit bending, and small installations
  • Mini challenges and team-based building activities

2. Project Management — CEI Style

  • How projects go from idea → plan → install
  • Scheduling, materials, budgeting, and jobsite coordination
  • Communication between field crews and project managers
  • How CEI executes successful projects from start to finish

Throughout the week, students will work on a guided electrical build they get to take home at the end of the program.
